The Accord School Appoints Bruce Frost as Director of Programming for Expanding Accord Center
NORWELL, MA [July 7, 2025] – The Accord School, a purposely small and proudly neurodivergent middle school serving grades 5-8, is excited to announce the appointment of Bruce Frost as the new Director of Programming for The Accord Center, which provides experiential, social-emotional, and enrichment programming for neurodivergent children, teenagers, and young adults across the South Shore.
The Accord School is a welcoming and caring community dedicated to nurturing each student's individual strengths and fostering a strong sense of belonging. Known for successfully transitioning neurodivergent students from public elementary schools and back to public high schools, Accord embraces intellectual curiosity and creativity while preparing students for the academic and social-emotional expectations of traditional high school environments.
Since its inception, The Accord School has offered uniquely experiential, “real-life” after-school social groups and summer programs for students who attend schools across the South Shore. "Many young people are excited to make a true friend for the first time," said Katy Boucher, Founding Director. "In Accord programs, students not only find people who share their often unique interests, but feel understood by people who share similar struggles with making social connections."
In 2024, The Accord School significantly expanded its facility and launched The Accord Center, a gathering space that, in addition to afterschool social groups and summer programs, offers special interest clubs such as art, anime, and Dungeons & Dragons. The Accord Center also incorporates thoughtfully designed enrichment opportunities like strength training and wrestling, specifically tailored for neurodivergent young people who often shy away from traditional sports programs.
"It became clear to our staff and Board of Directors that The Accord Center was ready for a dedicated leader to grow the program and serve even more young people on the South Shore," said Boucher. "Finding someone with a deep understanding of independent schools, enrichment programming, and the unique needs of neurodivergent thinkers was important."
The search led directly to Bruce Frost, who had collaborated with Accord School students during his four years as Director of Education at Holly Hill Farm in Cohasset. Frost’s extensive background in both public and independent schools, coupled with his expertise in extracurricular programming, proved to be an ideal match. "We are incredibly excited for the creative vision Bruce will bring to The Accord Center," stated Adam Hayes, Chair of Accord's Board of Directors. "We are confident that opportunities will expand significantly, not just for current Accord students, but for young people throughout the entire South Shore community."
The initial funding for this new position, along with necessary materials and facility upgrades for The Accord Center's expansion, was successfully "crowdfunded" through the generous support of over 120 unique donors. "Our community collectively raised over $200,000 to kickstart the first two years of programming at The Accord Center," Boucher shared. "We are immensely grateful and eager to get started."
The Accord Center will announce its Fall session programming in early August, with opportunities designed for young people ages 5-30, and their families. Programs will continue to expand throughout the 2025-26 school year. "A year from now, we are excited to see this space bustling with activity," said Hayes. "There's nothing better than seeing young people thrive."
