Van Camps & Teen Nights Out 2026

We take our program on the road.
Every. Single. Day.

  • Museums: Participants will visit a variety of museums in the Boston area, spanning a range of enriching topics such as art, technology, local history, and natural sciences. They will learn to work on museum manners, traveling with a group, noticing, listening, and following a group plan.

South Shore Beaches and Old-Fashioned “Swimming Holes”: Kids will look forward to a day at the beach- swimming, hunting for rocks and shells, learning about aquatic creatures, building colossal sandcastles as a group, or relaxing in the shade.

Fun!: Some days are all about fun, and answering the age-old question: “Are we there yet?” We are not afraid to travel just a bit farther than usual to enjoy amusement park and water park destinations on Cape Cod and in Southern New Hampshire.

What supplies does my child need?

    Most supplies are included.

Your summer mornings are busy enough. We won’t add to your stress. All your student needs to do is show up in Norwell with a book, a lunch, and a bathing suit under their clothes.
    We’ll cover the rest:

    • Transportation. Everywhere.

    • Admission to all destinations

    • Beach towels

    • Sunblock and bug spray*

    • Plenty of water

    • A “healthy-enough” snack*

*Healthy-enough snacks (nut free and gluten free as needed) will be provided. Families who are more comfortable sending snacks from home are invited to pack an extra large lunch. Families who have specific sunblock and bug spray preferences are asked to apply in the morning, and send their child with their own supply to carry in a backpack.

Because life happens, each participant will have some supplies from home that travel with us. On their first day of VanCamp, each participant will need to provide:

    • A refillable water bottle

    • A change of clothes

    • An extra bathing suit

    • Health, Allergies, & Medications: Children who have special medical circumstances will make arrangements with our staff. Details will be arranged after students are accepted to our program.

Kids will even have the opportunity to try their hand at fishing in the pond. They will be able to build forts and practice using a compass. And just to get a break from the hot summer days, we will go inside and explore the world through STEAM activities and challenges, including making chain reactions, designing different vehicles, and finding ways to float the gnome! Every day will also have games and crafts. Fridays will include a trip to Blue Hills for hiking, visits to the animals, and lunch.

Every day will have snacks that they cook for themselves and a wide variety of games. Fridays will include a trip to a local farm and gallery.

Kids will imagine worlds that they can build with Legos or in Minecraft, design magical maps, write and direct short films, create their own comics, and explore the fantastical worlds of stories and myth. They may even have time to make costumes and props for their films or a play. And if they are interested in music, they can bring their instruments to the Center. There will also be games throughout the day. Fridays will include a trip to a location like the Museum of Illusions, Level 99, or other imaginative places.
